    You have you tails confused. The sharp-shinned has the square tail and the Cooper’s the rounded. Also, you are confused regarding males vs. female Cooper’s. The markings are identical. What you are trying to show above is a Cooper’s with juvenile marks (on left) and adult markings (or definitive plumate) on right. It’s as if you have almost no education on these hawks at all??

      What an unfortunate comment. You had potential there in the beginning by offing some field marking tips but ended with an insult. This post is over five years old. I’ve learned a lot over the last five years. I hope you’re capable of learning more too. Best of luck on your endeavors.

        My apologies for the harsh tone. I should have left out that lest sentence….but be aware that when you have such good looking content and illustrations people assume you are an authority. If you now know the information is dated, you should at least correct it, right…..so people trying to learn don’t get confused. Five years ago, I had never heard of a Cooper’s hawk or sharp shinned hawk….I have learned an incredible amount about birds in the last 5 years. Again, I apologize for my tone.
